Header & Background

Header

There are three header choices. You will see these in the html. Delete or comment out the versions you are not using. Leave the first h1 with the id idaho there.

  1. Version one - One line of large text.
  2. Version two - A line of large text on top of a line of small text.
  3. Version three - A line of small text on top of a line of large text (this is what the web templates site uses).

Header Background

Your header background choices:

  1. Use the plain header (header.jpg) in your palette download
  2. Use the header with a mountain sliver at the bottom (header_mtn.jpg) in your palette download
  3. Create your own header using the Photoshop file below

Customizing your header background

  • You will need access to Adobe Photoshop or a similar Adobe product
  • Please ensure you own or have the rights to the copyright for any photos you use.
  • Aim to keep the your final file around 15-23K.
  • See notes on on Photoshop file. Save for web.
  • This is a preview example that includes a customized header.

Background

Your background choices:

  1. Use the solid color background in your palette
  2. Fourth of July Lake background that Idaho.gov will be using (this is included in the palette download)
  3. Create your own background using the Photoshop file below

Customizing your background

  • You will need access to Adobe Photoshop or a similar Adobe product
  • Please ensure you own or have the rights to the copyright for the photo you are using.
  • Aim to keep the background .jpg file under 75K. It should load last, but plenty of people are still using dial-up.
  • Make sure your image will look good at a large size.
  • Insert your image as the bottom layer in the template. Make the layer for the palette you are using visible. Make sure the other palettes are not visible. Save for web.
  • This is an early example of a customized background.
